Presents
Training Clinic
On Saturday, April 12, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m., the Corolla Wild Horse Fund and Mill Swamp Indian Horses will present a demonstration of the techniques of Natural Horsemanship that have been used to tame and train wild horses captured from the herd of Spanish mustangs running wild on the Outer Banks. The wild horses of Corolla are entrusted to the care of the Corolla Wild Horse Fund. The herd management plan requires that the herd be maintained at a level compatible with the fragile eco-system of the northern Outer Banks. In order to accomplish that goal, excess horses are removed from the Wild Horse Sanctuary and placed for adoption.

Young riders, ages 9-16, at Mill Swamp Indian Horses have performed most of the training of these horses. Some of these riders will be on hand to participate in the demonstrations. Mill Swamp Indian Horses is spear-heading the effort to breed enough Corolla Spanish Mustangs in captivity to prevent their extinction.

The training demonstration will occur at Mill Swamp Indian Horses outside of Smithfield, VA. Direction tab on how to get there.

There is no charge to attend. See Attendees are urged to pre-register by e-mail at msindianhorses@aol.com. Visitors are encouraged bring lawn chairs.
